Pop Up Theatre

Silver Panelled hand basins

Brief - To create a temporary washroom for a three month theatre and dining experience venue. The venue was to be used 7 days a week for approximately 400 visitors per show.

Solution - As the event was colourful and energetic the loos were designed to engage with the rest of the venue; therefore the contemporary and bright effect of the silver panels was incorporated into the design. As can often happen at theatrical events the stampede during intervals can risk queuing in the loos. Consideration was taken to ensure that there was a good quantity of loos, including disabled access coupled with a good space allocation to allow for heavy usage. Vacuum technology was employed to decrease the amount of water used per flush. This reduced water consumption and increased the repeat flushing speed which resulted in a faster throughput of visitors.
